Owners of Prime Pub in Danbury announced in a Facebook post that it had shuttered earlier this month. Prime Pub's Tolland County location in Somers remains open.
To our valued guests and community, we regret to inform you that Prime Pub in Danbury will be closing its doors, with our final day of service on Sunday, October 20th. We want to express our deepest gratitude for your support and patronage over the years. It has been a pleasure serving you, and we cherish the many memories made.
Owners did not give a reason for the closure, but they had posted on social media in September about a costly repair from water damage.
Fans of the restaurant said they were sad to see the restaurant go.
"Prime Pub was the best restaurant on our rotation. I have so many menu favorites. I can’t imagine the replacement will be as good," one person posted.
"Thank you for the amazing drinks, fantastic food, and great memories," someone else wrote.
The restaurant's leaders reminded disappointed customers that their Bia American Kitchen at 480 Bedford Road in Chappaqua, New York, was open.
The New York restaurant boasts a 3.8 on Yelp with several 5-star reviews.
